Ministry Teams
Care and Wellness Action Team
Led by Diane Brousseau-Pizzi and Evie Martin, The Care, Wellness and Action Team strives to reach out to those In physical, spiritual or emotional need, or those in need of a hello! The Team prays for and visits those who are ill or have had surgery; those who are in crisis, live alone or are grieving. Visits are done in hospitals, nursing homes and individual homes. Cookies are baked for distribution during Care Team visits.
Team members often bring meals to those in need and occasionally provide rides to medical appointments. At Christmas, cookies are baked by congregation partners and delivered to those the Care Team visits.
The Team manages the Care Team Prayer List, as well as the St. Andrew E-News Prayer List. Greeting cards are sent out on behalf of the Congregation and Care Team. Phone calls and e-mails are utilized to check in with individuals and offer support if needed.
As an extension of the care our team provides, here's an online resource for info on assisted living options and other elder affairs in Rhode Island.
Members of the Care Team are also instrumental in the Grief, Loss & Caregiver Group - which provides support to those experiencing loss, coping with grief, and/or are caregivers.
Grief, Loss & Caregiver Support Group
Grief is any loss—loss of a loved one, loss of a job, a relationship, or a health or mobility limitation. This free discussion & support group is open to the community and meets weekly on Monday at St. Andrew, from 6:30pm to 8pm. All are welcome to join and to continue to come for as long as it is helpful to them. The group is facilitated by a mental health professional. Please check our calendar to confirm or contact Diane Brousseau-Pizzi with any questions.
Fellowship Team
Fellowship coordinates coffee hours, St. Andrew lunches and receptions for funerals or memorial services. Contact Jean Fournier if you're interested in joining the team.
