Faith in Action
At the heart of the St. Andrew community is a desire to BE THE CHURCH to our neighbors in as many ways as we can. We believe we are loved and embraced by God so that we can love and embrace others. But this is only true if WE ALL make it so.
At least twice a year the whole congregation puts their faith in action by serving our community in a variety of ways. We roof houses, paint houses and decks, build steps or wheelchair ramps, do indoor painting, or skirt mobile homes. Some people have the gifts for sewing or quilting. Others prepare and serve a meal for the WARM Shelter or the Peacedale House. Our musicians sing at Java Madness and collect funds for our food pantry. Sometimes we visit local stores to collect funds and items for our Personal Needs Closet. Or we'll clear trails for one of the local wildlife refuges.
We welcome ANYONE to join in and use their gifts. You don't have to swing a hammer or be able to sew, there are many ways to help that don't require skills! Families sometimes work together and people of all ages are involved.
We regularly partner with Neighbors Helping Neighbors RI and are always looking for additional new partners! Contact us if you want to help, have resources to share, or if your organization would like to get involved. It's just a great feeling to help others!
Watch for more information or contact the church if you would like to be included on our email list for the next faith in action weekend!
