We set aside the two Saturday mornings before Palm Sunday for First Communion classes each year. Kids who are in second grade or older (or younger children whose parents have made arrangements with a pastor) are welcome to participate with at least one of their parents. Classes tell the story of the Passover event for the Hebrew people and children learn how Jesus transformed the Passover meal at the end of his life into what we know as Holy Communion. They begin to understand the meaning of the meal and why we celebrate it every week in worship.
Kids will receive their first Holy Communion the Sunday before Palm Sunday. You'll find the first communion information form in the box below.
